Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures

implements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient completion of maintaining lamp cabin operations including:

reading, interpreting, applying and communicating technical information

identifying, addressing and reporting environmental issues, potential hazards and risks

selecting and using relevant tools and equipment

complying with environmental requirements and constraints

identifying work requirements

applying diagnostic and fault finding techniques

maintaining equipment records

planning maintenance and servicing schedules

disposing of environmentally sensitive materials

communicating and negotiating with contractors/suppliers and mine employees

maintaining records

maintaining and performing repairs on equipment

works effectively with others to undertake and complete maintaining lamp cabin operations in a way that meets all of the required outcomes including:

organising work activities to meet all task requirements

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

resolving coordination requirements throughout work activities

demonstrates completion of maintaining lamp cabin operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

lamp cabin equipment characteristics, uses and limitations

understanding manufacturer and site equipment maintenance systems

accessing site chemical substances information system

applying stock control procedures related to the lamp cabin operations

accessing relevant legislative and enterprise records systems

mine ventilation systems

applying equipment maintenance systems and procedures

being prepared for fire/accident/emergency
